Biomass Gasification Power Plant (PIN)

The project will use local coconut husk and wood biomass to fuel via gasification a new 500 kW power plant.

Project Idea Note (PIN)

    Description:
Samoa is highly dependent on imported diesel oil to generate electricity. The project will build facilities to gasify coconut husk and maybe wood biomass in order to provide fuel for a new 500 kW power plant. Five candidate sites have been identified for the project, some have sufficient coconut husk supply, some need supplementation by wood biomass.
